Dr. Pennie Murray spent a large portion of her life struggling to understand why she related more to a “poverty mentality” rather than a “wealth mentality”.
During the course of her 16-year academic research and travels as a corporate trainer, she found that many others were in the same struggle. So her intense desire to find the pathway that would help her make the mental and emotional shift became bigger than herself.
Describing herself as more of a teacher than speaker, Dr. Murray blends her life lessons, spiritual and psychological studies, professional development, and interactions with others to give your audience an experience that will reawaken them to their unique power of self-permission.
No Hooks; No Gimmicks… Just Straight Talk
Dr. Murray truly has the insight, life experience, and dynamic personality to bring the most valuable, yet highly uncomfortable, frequently ignored discussion of emotional self-sabotage to the forefront. With her unique ability to connect with people from all lifestyles, Dr. Murray encourages others to recognize the possible unconscious resistance they may have toward their success experiences.
Dr. Murray believes in encouragement—not co-dependency, so she’s not interested in catchy hooks and gimmicks. In her frank, but conversational way, she brings the warmth and connection experienced in intimate, small gatherings to groups of any size. For her, every keynote is like talking with a trusted confidant or old friend. She is dedicated to sharing insights and techniques that will help each person uncover the unconscious resistance that’s keeping them from achieving long-term successes. And her passion for the Power of Self-Permission is contagious.
Micro-Learning and Keynote Topics:
Each keynote is like a micro-burst learning session. All topics can be customized as 2 – 6 hour seminars, breakout sessions, or self-empowerment retreats.
• The Power of Self Permission
At its purest state, the higher consciousness of self-permission, as used here, does not fit into a neatly wrapped definition. While its deepest meaning is based on an individual’s unique journey, Dr. Murray will give you a peek into the basic principles of coaching your mind toward a higher consciousness of self-permission, and how it aids you in discovering and living your life’s truth. She’ll also share her perspective on the language of resistance toward success; how it’s created, and how fluent we are in speaking it.
• You Have Two Roads to Follow
Growing up, Dr. Murray recalls her mother frequently telling her three younger sisters that they had two roads to follow: Pennie’s road in life, or her oldest sister’s road. The intent was to point out that our choices can either damn us or reward us.
In a way, her mother was right. But like many today, her admonishments were focused on our outward experiences. What is often left out of the conversation is “every choice has two roads it must follow.
Since these two roads are intertwined—Dr. Murray shares insight on harmonizing these two roads, while also offering some cliff notes on what to expect along the way.
• Stay Woke: A Conversation Beyond the Hashtag
In the 70s Gil Scott Heron released a poem laid to rhythm titled The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama spoke of a “quiet riot” that has been building up within the Black American community for years. A quiet riot rooted in discontent and waning hope that has grown in the psyche of individuals.
Using these two prophetic views, Dr. Murray points out the meaning, cost, and responsibility of awakening our higher consciousness. She moves beyond the hashtag dialog to discuss the importance of galvanizing our inner-resources, and to awaken our inner-activist to rise-up against our greatest adversary.
• The Monopoly Theory: Pre-Conditioned to Self-Sabotage
An African proverb gives these words of wisdom, “When there is no enemy on the inside, the perceived enemies on the outside can do you no harm.” The historical pre-conditioning of social and economic inequality has caused an achievement moratorium on black success.
Using the rules of the Monopoly game, Dr. Murray reveals how our resistance toward this society’s monopoly on success has turned inward, causing many to feel stuck in their efforts towards success. Using a blended learning approach she facilitates an open discussion to explore practical pathways to self-sufficiency.
• Navigating the Emotional Side of Success
“When you understand the ‘whys’ of life, you can endure any ‘how’.” As individuals, we often misinterpret the why of our emotions, and what they are trying to tell us. We rarely explore why we are so hell bent on sabotaging our own efforts toward success. So, we damn our emotional experiences, and the wisdom they hold. This lack of knowing is at the root of our unconscious apprehension or doubt, and cause us to sabotage our efforts in achieving success.
To help you change the relationship you have with your emotions, Dr. Murray introduces you to the 5 characteristics that factor into the emotional side of success. She also shares how the higher consciousness of self-permission can help you decipher the inevitable emotional interaction experienced in your journey toward success.
